A man was remanded into custody today accused of attacking his uncle with a bottle. Paul Smith, 32, faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon. The alleged offences were committed in west Belfast last Sunday. Appearing before the city's Magistrates Court today, Smith, of Victoria Parade, Belfast, spoke only to confirm he understood the charges.
